HODGSON ORDERED OFF

Leeds United Win Again in Denmark

HOLLEY SHINES

AALBORG.Sunday

Gordon Hodgson, Leeds United's South African centre-forward, was ordered off the field in the closing stages of the match against an Aalborg combination side here, today, for unruly play. Leeds United won by two goals to nil after leading bygone goal, at half-time. Hargreaves, the outside-left, scored both goals. Hodgson had already, been spoken to by the referee on several occasions, and following a tackle on S. Mejlhede, the Danish right half, the referee told Hodgson to leave the field. The first half was played at a fast rate, and it was not until a minute before the interval that Hargreaves scored the first goal for United in a goalmouth scramble. Again in the second half play was of an even character, and half an hour had passed before Hargreaves, taking a pass from Powell, scored again for Leeds. In the first half there was an interchange of positions between Dunderdale and Hodgson, and this gave more power to the attack. The open play of the visitors was much admired, and the Danish goal was often in danger. Holley was a great stumbling block to the Danish attacks in this half. After 15 minutes, of the second half Hodgson put the ball into the net, but the point, was disallowed because of a previous infringement. Leeds then scored their second goal after half an hour, and play after this was generally robust.
